There’s this tendency to think we own all that we have. If we’re blessed with a child, we think they belong to us. If we’re given health, we become angry if it’s taken away. If we have wealth, we think it’s because we deserve it. If we’re given intelligence, we think it’s because we own a greater mind. If we act in a patient way, we assume it’s because we are inherently patient people. Truth is: we are all childless, diseased, poor, without knowledge and impatient–except those who God has blessed with children, health, wealth, knowledge or patience. We fail to see every one of these blessings as *gifts*–impermanent and given to even the undeserving. #HumilityAndGratitude
