Remember your brethren in Syria. Their predicament is deep. A harsh winter has suddenly arrived. There are millions of them displaced within Syria and outside. They are exposed to the dangers of this winter in addition to the continuing dangers of a horrific crisis now in its third year. By Allah, they were the best of helpers when Iraqi and Lebanese refugees fled to their country. They have always been open-hearted towards anyone seeking refuge amongst them and they would never discriminate on grounds of religious affiliation or ethnicity. We have a duty to stand with them and support them with all that we can, be it little or much. In reality, all that we are able to expend is little. Let us exhaust our efforts in helping them – through volunteering, creating awareness, or raising funds – bearing in mind that this is a duty we have been unable to sufficiently fulfil and not a favour we’re extending to them.

Here is a link to the UN Refugee Agency, an organisation that can be trusted not to undertake its work for the benefit of a particular political leaning or sectarian affiliation.
