How cold is your winter? This is an image from my recent trip that I’ve used to have a conversation with my children. This young boy is collecting firewood to keep he and his family warm in freezing temperatures. Sometimes, their tents catch fire and people die.

The blessing of having heating is one we often don’t show gratitude for. When you’re cold, you can’t think straight. You’re always sick. You’re unable to use the bathroom or take a shower without further hurting yourself. It’s constant bitterness.

There are people sleeping under our highways in downtowns here in the United States that are also freezing while we complain about the difficulty of getting from our homes to our cars. Offer someone the gift of warmth. Keep a heavy coat with you in the car to gift the next cold homeless person you see. And continue to support your brothers and sisters who are freezing all over the world. #HumansofSyria
